You will see two versions from the Kalahari: a black PVD version with pale yellow face and a stainless-steel version with black face. The Draken Kalahari Watch Review |
Not created for elegance, the Draken Kalahari is built to be considered a tough and aggressive searching desert military watch. Searching in the dial on Kalahari you can observe immediately that it requires inspiration in the aviation world. The ability reserve indicator is inspired through the altimeter in vintage aviation dials. The skeletonized hands also seem like these were taken quickly of the altimeter. The sandwich dial design using the date wheel, power reserve disk, and inner rotating bezel, really provide a great 3d turn to this watch.
The Draken Kalahari is available in either
A stainless-steel situation or even the black PVD situation. Apart from the conclusion, both cases are similar. Calculating in at 44mm wide, 51.3mm lug to lug, and 15.1mm thick, this is an excellent sized watch and is the size I love. There's two screw lower crowns one for setting time, and something for that internal rotating GMT bezel. The situation back is screw lower and it has a sizable Draken emblem which is stuffed with lume. It appears very awesome at nighttime. Water proofing with this situation is 100 meters.
Both versions from the Draken Kalahari has the same tan canvas strap. These straps are extremely durable feeling and fit perfectly. As these are prototypes and also have been passed along from reviewer to reviewer, I suppose they're well damaged in. They are very made and appear as if they are able to take lots of abuse. The black PVD version has a black pin and buckle clasp and also the stainless model has the stainless clasp.
Draken has been doing well with
This particular model without a doubt. Both versions from the Kalahari have excellent lume. When you get the stainless version, the lume will range from colored hands and hour markers. There's even lume around the date wheel. The black pvd version takes it to another level. The whole face is colored in lume, such as the date wheel. All the hands and text remain black. Draken has utilized a sand colored luminous paint allow it that desert military look. I have to admit, around the Kalahari the lume really looks fantastic.
